Sami Cave

 For 33 years, my life was defined by an executive career in healthcare oversight. I hold a Master of Arts degree and was a practicing audiologist for over a decade. I know firsthand what ongoing stress and daily "noise" can do to our nervous system. 

A few years ago, I reconnected with my passion for painting. What began as a personal sanctuary to manage stress quickly transformed my overall well-being. Committing to a consistent creative practice helped me relax and eventually led to several honors, including first place in watercolor at the 44th Annual Juried Art Show in Midland, Texas.  

In January 2026, I retired from my healthcare career to become a full-time artist. 

Today, through Sami Cave Studio, my mission has evolved from managing noise to cultivating peace through creativity.  Inspired by nature and sacredness of everyday life, my works are designed to evoke reflection, calm and provide a bit of playfulness.

 Clarity Skywalker — Textured Acrylic & Watercolor Artist

Clarity Skywalker is a spiritual artist whose work pulls you in before you can look away. Working primarily in heavily textured acrylics — with watercolor woven in — she builds layered, luminous paintings that feel less like something you see and more like something you feel.

Her canvases radiate energy from the inside out. Spiraling vortexes, bursting light fields, and concentric cosmic forms draw the eye to a glowing center, as if something sacred is being revealed. The texture is everything — thick, dimensional strokes laid down with intention, creating movement and depth that shifts with the light. Standing in front of a Clarity Skywalker painting, you sense you are looking at something alive.

Rooted in a deeply spiritual worldview, Clarity describes her practice as sitting "in the Unspeakable" — creating art as a form of open worship and a way of bringing clarity to mystery. Her pieces are not just paintings; they are experiences. Portals. Invitations to slow down and pay attention to what cannot quite be named.

Joe Hopps — Abstract Expressionist & Edom Original

F.J. (Joe) Hopps has called Edom, Texas home since December 1999, and this small town has been the backdrop for one of the most creative and unexpected comeback stories in East Texas art.

A self-taught artist born in 1945, Joe first discovered his love of abstract expressionism in the early 1970s after visiting museums in Dallas and Fort Worth, where the bold works of Hans Hofmann, Franz Kline, and Larry Poons stopped him in his tracks. He began painting in oils and showing his work at sidewalk shows across rural Texas before eventually making his way to Houston, Oklahoma, and back again — always following what he called "a path with heart."

That path led him to a wild idea: building birdhouses as an art form. In 1999, he left contracting behind and arrived in Edom with his extraordinary Arbor Castle Birdhouses — hand-crafted sculptures made from hollowed cedar trunks that blur the line between functional art and woodland magic. For over two decades, his creations became a beloved fixture of the Edom art scene.

Then, in 2022, the brushes called him back. A hand injury, a chance encounter at the Edom Art Festival with a woman who had been searching for his paintings for 50 years, and the sight of two long-lost canvases at his son's home — three moments that reignited a fire. Since January 2023, Joe has been fully back in the studio, working in acrylics, oils, and mixed media with the same bold, free-spirited energy that defined his earliest work.

 Kristy Atchley — Author & Suncatcher Artist

Kristy Atchley is a children's book author and handcraft artist with a gift for bringing wonder into everyday life — whether through the pages of a book or the light dancing through one of her one-of-a-kind suncatchers.

Kristy is the author of two enchanting children's books: Inara, the Woodland Wisp, a whimsical woodland adventure illustrated by Corryn Webb, and Coddiwomple — a word that means to travel purposefully toward a vague destination, and a perfect reflection of Kristy's own creative spirit. Her stories are imaginative, heartfelt, and written to spark curiosity in young readers.

Alongside her writing, Kristy handcrafts stunning suncatchers — delicate, light-catching creations made from crystals, beads, wire, and natural elements that transform any window into something magical. Each piece is uniquely designed, catching and scattering light in ways that feel almost alive.

 Danica Cantrell — Collage Artist & Creative Coach

Danica Cantrell is a multi-talented artist, creative entrepreneur, and the imaginative force behind Crimson Quill Designs — a collage art brand whose handcrafted cards and prints can be found in bookstores and gift shops up and down the East Coast. Her work is intimate and evocative, blending imagery and texture into pieces that feel like little portals — made to be held, gifted, and kept.

But Danica's creativity doesn't stop at the art table. This fall she is launching Wild & Whole, a new coaching practice built around personalized interpretations of astrology and Myers-Briggs archetypes. Drawing from beloved guides like The Artist's Way, Martha Beck's Finding Your Own North Star, and The Hero Within archetypes, Wild & Whole is designed to help people chart their own best life course — with curiosity, depth, and heart. Danica is also pursuing her SoulCollage facilitator certification, weaving the transformative power of collage directly into her coaching work.

At the crossroads of art-making and self-discovery, Danica's question to the world is a simple one: Who are you, and how do you create your best life?

 Leila Christina — Naturalist Artist, Musician & Creative Spirit

Leila Christina is one of East Texas's most uniquely multidimensional creatives — a naturalist, yoga practitioner, musician, and visual artist whose work flows from a deep, reverent relationship with the natural world.

Her art is rooted in the earth itself. Leila's photography and digital prints transform the organic world into something mythic — mirrored reflections of turtles, ancient figures, and wild creatures that seem to emerge from soil, water, and light. Her images carry a ceremonial quality, as if each one is an offering from the forest floor. Alongside her prints, she creates enchanting fairy houses and woodland sculptures from natural materials — whimsical, handcrafted dwellings that feel like they truly belong to another world just beyond the treeline.

Leila's creative practice doesn't live in just one form. As a yoga teacher and naturalist, she weaves movement, breath, and the living landscape into immersive workshops that unite body, art, and the wild. Her work has been featured at Tyler Fine Art Gallery and in collaborative events across East Texas.
